No More Nylons is sponsoring the Women’s Business Socials to promote vibrant, worthwhile conversations between women in business.

My intention for the Socials is to create a free, professional network, to bring the AMAZING women together to talk, connect and promote the work they love doing. That’s what No More Nylons is all about. Doing the work you love… and being who you are. If you’re new to town or even visiting, this is a great way to soak up the local flavor and get to know the women that make this town purr…

You’re invited to meet up with the Women of Ojai* who run companies big and small or just have a creative entrepreneurial spirit to do what they love in the world. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a little support? This gathering brings together an amazing resource of women. We counted about 130 ATTENDEES at the July 8 event. Where: The Lavender Inn, 210 East Matilija Street, Ojai, CA 93023
This is a gorgeous bed and breakfast. They have parties, weddings and all kinds of spectacular events here. We’re fortunate enough to be invited back after the May 2010 Social. You will not want to miss this fantastic event. You can lounge in their enchanted garden, wander through the Inn to see the historic rooms, and enjoy the veranda.

Food: La Piu Bella Tavola will be cooking up a storm. Ellen, the owner, specializes in Italian Specialty Catering and Glorious Table Presentations. Check out her website to see how she turns food to art! She gave us a sneak peak to the menu for the evening and she’s made a crazy low price of $10 (cash) which I consider a personal favor and a generous contribution to making the Women in Business ROCKIN in our communities. Come hungry and enjoy.

Vegetarian Sandwiches on Homemade Focacce Bread (Individual “supersized finger” sandwiches on a platter) (focacce, citrus mint aioli, cheese, tomato, greens, avocado)
Joey’s Potato Salad (Ellen’s mother’s potato salad, yummy!)
Arugula Salad with ripe cherry tomatoes tossed in our signature lemon dressing
Chocolate Shortcakes with Raspberry Whipped cream, fresh Strawberries, and Chocolate Sauce!!! (you will put the dessert together yourself!)

Cost: Free *Drinks & food will be on sale. They will be featuring the catering services of Ellen Sherwood of La Piu Bella Tavola! (With a name that translates to “The most beautiful table” you know the food is going to be delicious, right?!See MENU above…)

Parking: Free. On the street. Carpool when you can.

No PETS. Even the small cute ones. Please leave them at home. We’re in restaurants and places that have health code requirements. So don’t take it personally.

My intention is to create a fantastic gathering of amazing women, and just let us socialize and connect the way we naturally do. That’s all. No weird presentations or elevator pitches. About this Ojai* thing: Women have joined us from as far as Corona, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Carpinteria, and Los Angeles. Ojai residency is not a requirement for attending, it’s just one of the perks of living here. If you’re visiting Ojai or nearby, you’re invited! No RSVP, no fees, or anything. Just show up! Life is complicated enough. This doesn’t have to be.
