Here are 3 Reasons I search Facebook and LinkedIn for Information I need.
- When I want to make sure to SPELL someone’s name right.
- If someone uses just their email to leave a blog post or sign up for my newsletter, I can search Facebook for their name and update my database with their info.
- For spouse’s & kid’s names. Yup, people list that information on Facebook!
BONUS: Want to differentiate yourself when you’re connecting to people online? Write a personal message to let the person know WHY you’re sending them an invitation to connect. (ie Friend Request) When people don’t know what you want, they’re more hesitant. Be honest. Be real. And let them know how you found out about them and why you’d like to stay connected online.
